A newly built, 13,891-square-foot home in Pelican Crest has sold for $21 million, touted as a record sale for Newport Coast’s Pelican communities.

The ocean-view house, occupant-certified in January, was a collaboration of architect Richard Krantz, interior designer Errol de Jager of DeJager design, and Pelican Developers, according to the off-market listing.

Set on a cul de sac in the guard-gated enclave, the three-level house at 29 Avalon Vista has six en-suite bedrooms and 10 bathrooms.

The home is also tucked behind its own set of gates.

Amenties include a commercial-grade elevator, formal, two-story library and a separate office with a fireplace. The daylighted lower level has exercise areas and a game lounge, as well as a home theater and expansive wine cellar.
Outdoors are an additional 4,000 square feet of loggia spaces and a heated swimming pool. The property includes staff quarters and a 3,000-square-foot, finished garage.

John McMonigle of The McMonigle Group was the listing agent; Alan Chen of IRN Realty represented the buyer.

McMonigle said the private sale has set a record in the Pelican neighborhoods, which include Pelican Crest, Pelican Hill and Pelican Ridge. Read the whole article here.
